Who I Am
I'm Ishan Choudhury, a game developer, programmer, and creative based in the UK. I studied at the University of Greenwich and spent three years obsessively making games, tools, and prototypes, landing nominations at the Greenwich Digital Shark Expo three times across different projects.
My love for games started early, with a deep affection for the classics of the early 2000s — the era that shaped my design sensibilities. I'm fascinated by what makes games feel right: the interplay of mechanics, audio, and moment-to-moment feedback that turns code into experience. Truly words cannot express my adoration for games both digital and physical. Games are works of art, teachers, a form of entertainment and even reflections of culture, creativity and human experience.
What I Do
I work across the full development stack; from core gameplay programming in C# and C++, to 3D modelling environments and characters, to composing sound effects and music in FL Studio. I love every aspect of designing and developing games.
My main engine is currently Unity. It is my choice of engine for rapid prototyping, to building larger scale projects and is what I'm most comfortable with. I have experience utilising Unreal Engine 5 and have delved into both its back-end and front-end.

My Approach
I believe the best games are built on tight feedback loops — rapid prototyping, playtesting early, and iterating until something feels undeniably right. Whether I'm working solo or in a team, I push to have something playable as fast as possible and refine from there.
I care equally about the technical and the creative. A beautiful mechanic poorly communicated to the player is a failed mechanic. I spend as much time on sound, and feel as I do on underlying systems.
Inspirations
My taste runs wide. From the cozy warmth of management sims and the tight loops of roguelikes, to the unsettling tension of psychological thrillers. Some games that shaped how I think about design:
- Hades — masterclass in narrative-through-repetition
- Ico — a showcase of subtractive design as a philosophy
- TES III: Morrowind — the artistry of a fully hand-crafted world
- Dark Souls — punishing systems that elevate triumph into something memorable
- Katamari Damacy — the power of a truly singular idea
Let's Work Together
I'm open to opportunities in game development — as a programmer, designer, or generalist — as well as collaborations on indie projects. If something I've made resonated with you, reach out.
